01
Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to prospective customers, account holders, business team members, and people who contact a website operated through LocalWebDesk. A LocalWebDesk customer may also publish their own privacy notice for visitors to their business website.
When a business uses LocalWebDesk to manage enquiries or website content, that business controls the information it collects from its own customers. LocalWebDesk processes that information to provide the platform and related support.
02
Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use LocalWebDesk.
- Account information, including your name, email address, authentication details, and account role.
- Business information, including business name, industry, address, phone number, opening hours, brand preferences, domain details, and team membership.
- Website content, including text, services, FAQs, images, testimonials, SEO settings, and revision requests.
- Communications, including contact forms, support conversations, feedback, and messages sent through the platform.
- Billing records, including plan, order, subscription, payment status, and Stripe identifiers. Full payment-card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored in the LocalWebDesk application database.
- Technical and security information, such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, session data, diagnostic events, and audit logs.
03
How we collect information
We collect information directly from you, automatically when you use the service, from authorised members of your business, and from service providers that help us operate LocalWebDesk. For example, Stripe sends verified payment and subscription events to our server after checkout.
04
How we use information
We use information only where reasonably necessary to operate and improve LocalWebDesk, perform our agreement with you, protect the platform, comply with legal obligations, or pursue legitimate business purposes that do not override your rights.
- Create and secure accounts and maintain authenticated sessions.
- Set up, edit, preview, publish, and support customer websites.
- Process orders, subscriptions, cancellations, and payment records.
- Deliver contact-form submissions, service messages, and requested email notifications.
- Provide customer support, respond to revision requests, and keep an audit trail of important actions.
- Prevent misuse, investigate faults, monitor reliability, and protect users and the service.
- Meet tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, and other legal obligations.
05
Website enquiries and customer content
A visitor may submit their name, email address, phone number, and message through a customer website. That information is made available to the relevant business and may be delivered by email. Each business is responsible for using its enquiries lawfully and for publishing any additional notices required for its industry or location.
Do not upload sensitive personal information unless it is necessary, lawful, and appropriate for the service. LocalWebDesk is not designed as a medical-record, legal case-management, or financial-record system.
06
Service providers and disclosures
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose limited information to providers that perform services on our behalf, to an authorised member of your business, during a legitimate business transaction, or where disclosure is required to protect rights, safety, or comply with law.
- Supabase for authentication, PostgreSQL database services, storage, and realtime features.
- Vercel for application hosting, deployment, and delivery.
- Stripe for checkout, billing, and payment processing.
- Resend for transactional email when email delivery is enabled.
- Domain, mapping, review, and other providers when you choose to connect those services.
07
International data processing
LocalWebDesk is designed for businesses worldwide. Our providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live or operate. Where required, we and our providers use contractual, organisational, or legal safeguards for international transfers.
08
Retention and deletion
We retain information while your account or service is active and for a reasonable period afterwards when needed for backups, security, billing records, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.
Deleting content from the dashboard may initially mark it for deletion before it is permanently removed. Information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained where the law requires it.
09
Security
We use authentication, access controls, row-level database policies, encrypted network connections, signed payment webhooks, and operational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service is completely secure, so you should use a strong password, protect access to your email account, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
10
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. These rights may be limited by legal exceptions.
Submit a request through our Contact page. We may need to verify your identity and your authority to act for a business before completing the request. You may also complain to the privacy regulator in your jurisdiction.
11
Cookies and browser storage
LocalWebDesk uses essential cookies to maintain secure sessions and operate account features. Optional technologies will only be described as active when they are actually enabled. Read our Cookie Policy for more information.
12
Children
LocalWebDesk is a business service and is not directed to children. You must be legally able to enter into a business agreement to create an account or purchase a service. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information improperly.
13
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised version here and update the date above. Where a change materially affects how we use account information, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected users.
